DATA Discs
Founded in 2015 as the first record label solely dedicated to releasing video game soundtracks on vinyl. Their partners include SEGA, CAPCOM, KONAMI, TREASURE and SNK.
DATA Discs carefully remaster game soundtracks and present them as officially licensed, high quality packages. their intention is to promote the work of game composers and introduce people to an area of music that, despite being culturally significant in many ways, has seldom been available on any format.
What we did
Working from assets supplied by video game publishers such as Sega and Capcom, carefully curated designs were created to both celebrate the title and the artwork but also to fit into the catalogue of releases by the label. Similar elements were used to create brand consistency.
The artwork supplied had often been long unused and remained unsuitable for such a large format as a 12″ vinyl record sleeve, so careful Photoshop editing, up-scaling, re-builds and tastefully re-using artwork in new ways breathes life into these packages often from very little source material.
Designs by Good Things lead designer, Alex Rogers under freelance contract with DATA Disc.
