Ocean City Games
Ocean City Games is a UK Independent Board Game Designer and Publisher. A group of friends who decided to start creating board games in 2018. In late 2020, they successfully funded their first game Salvage Hidden Treasures on Kickstarter and since then have created a few games that are in various stages of development.
What we did
Working to design rule books, cards, illustrations, box artwork and more-or-less everything for Ocean City Games, the brief has always been to create vibrant, colourful designs that challenge the status-quo of the industry.
Their first game, Salvage Hidden Treasures was designed to be intentionally minimalist in a world of games otherwise bursting with big and bold characters. We used a minimal colour scheme, purely monochrome illustrations designed to mimic lino-cut print and simple typography.
For their follow-up game, Isla – the design aimed to replicate the vibrancy and feel of a trip to a tropical island. Everything was designed with highly saturated colours for a bold table presence.
